N0ZYC offset attenuator 2+4 mhz
N0ZYC offset attenuator 2+4 mhz:
In my early experiences with offset attenuators, I made one that could produce either a 2mhz or 4mhz offset,
in case that might be useful. More recently I've seen retail units that ONLY offer a 4mhz option. That's
unfortunate if you have a radio with a limited receive window, like the HTX-202's I use here. For them,
2mhz is necessary, so I eventually recycled this unit into a 2mhz attenuator in a metal enclosure.
For now I have obtained a small supply of 2mhz crystals, to use if I get a 4mhz unit that needs a crystal
swap to get it on 2mhz.
